HIGH POINT MARKET: 2021 FURNITURE TRENDS

This year we were able to join thousands of designers from all over and attend High Point Market in North Carolina. Trade vendors from all over the globe come to High Point to show us their latest and greatest collections for furniture, lighting, textiles, and decor.

Below are some of the most predominant trends of Spring 2021

boucle, fabric, texture

Bouclé

For upholstery, bouclé stole the spotlight this year, specifically in shades of white. We saw bouclé used all

over – on beds, accent seating, dining chairs, and sofas. I’m a huge fan of bouclé, as it brings beautiful texture and a cozy feel to solid upholstery.

Bold Curves

After years of clean, straight lines dominating, curves have been making a comeback. Adding curves in a room will make it feel more welcoming and comfortable.

Large Scale Textures and Patterns

Large scale, open weaves and textures were prominent throughout market. Where color was not present, large scale textures made up for it by providing the visual interest to create a compelling story.  It also kept with the current furniture trend of everything being bigger, fatter, and chunkier.
